Anyone can be a Wok Star!

Create memories & make new friends
I give Wok Star traveling cooking classes (actually, they’re more like interactive WORKSHOPS) to show people how to get the most out of their Wok Star Kits.  My Kit can jump start positive life changes because of the feedback I get from my students.  The thrill of hearing from happy families about cooking and eating together, or thanking me their partners have lost weight or their picky kids are eating their vegetables, is the most rewarding feeling and what keeps me going.

Easy Style appeals to EVERYONE...
If you think cooking dinner is stressful or a chore, you’ll
like my simple approach to cooking.  If you enjoy cooking, you’ll discover new flavors and techniques.  If you’re a novice, you will love this failproof method.  Many tell me it has changed their whole mindset towards cooking and eating.

My style of cooking appeals to a wide variety of people.  From busy professionals, moms and kids, college bound teenagers, boaters, campers, RVs to single guys who like to show off to their dates while keeping it healthy.

Dining at home is so much cheaper, cozier and healthier than restaurant food or takeouts.  Plus you know what’s going into your meals and you can cook it exactly how you like it. Frugal’s never been so delicious!

Goal of Easy Style
My goal is to show you that with just a few fresh ingredients, you can accomplish BIG flavors.  I do NOT cook chop suey, Chinese restaurant food (mostly deep fried).

I have taught thousands of people wok cooking using my failproof, stir fry process and a “Squirt, Squeeze and Shake” method of seasoning that’s very liberating.  This intuitive and improvisational approach makes cooking a fun, creative and pleasurable experience instead of just following a set of directions from a recipe.

Anyone can be a Wok Star and that's why my Wok Star Kit will be available for purchase so you can go home and implement what you have learned.

Format of class

Introductions
We start with meeting new friends and enjoying a delicious
Rainbow Lettuce Wrap appetizer paired with Tiger Beer, Fiji Water or wines (if held at a wine bar) while touring the venue.  I like to introduce each person so you feel you’re part of the class. It helps to break the ice and many friendships have been made.

Rainbow Lettuce wrap is a great party dish because you can prepare it ahead of time and serve it when your guests arrive without additional prep.

Class description
I begin the class by explaining my simple visual roadmap. We'll explore Asian ingredients and I'll provide handouts with brands and markets together with a handy stir-fry crib sheet. There'll be door prizes and tons of tips sprinkled throughout the evening.

Then we'll continue with three different stir-fry combinations. You'll savor each dish as it's cooked (see menu). Many will have the opportunity to stir-fry alongside me and I'll try to answer all your burning questions about wok cooking.

I look forward to meeting you soon at my next cooking class.

  2. Easy stir fry veggies with an Asian twist

  3. Shrimp with asparagus, carrot & topped with cashews

  4. Tilapia with zucchini, squash & bell peppers in spicy brown bean sauce

Arclinea, Coral Gables -- Architect Max Strang appreciates the beauty and functionality of a good wok and owns my Wok Star Kit!

Snaidero USA -- Carlos & Allison hosted my Wok Star class which was showcased on Local Fox News, Belkys Nerey’s Style File segment.
Naked Grape Wine Bar, Wilton Manors, Ft. Laud. is cool, cozy yet sleek with a mix of stainless steel furniture with leather sofas.  Great setup for my class with a Wine Star who gives fab tips on wine pairings.

The third dish is shrimp and asparagus.  It’s a great way to prepare a delicious one-dish meal in thirty minutes or less.  Once you start creating your own combinations of protein and veggies, you’ll be able to create THOUSANDS of your own “recipes”.

“I thoroughly enjoyed your class and learned a lot.  I was particularly pleased with the simplicity of your instructions.  I thought the group was an especially interesting bunch of folks and was impressed by how you were able to engage everyone's undivided attention and participation.”  Betty King, dinnerreviews.com

The last meal of the class, Tilapia in a spicy brown bean sauce, demonstrates the wok’s versatility.  The fish is cooked IN the sauce instead of stir frying.

“I had such a blast in your class and would recommend it to any one as a stress reliever and excuse to eat great food all night without feeling guilty.”   Nati

“I had a wonderful time the other night.  What stood out the most was the atmosphere--I LOVED the location!!! I also loved how you made it intimate by remembering everyone and doing the introductions in the beginning - I think that set off a positive and warm evening.”  Julissa

“I loved the class. You really did a great job of demystifying the process, kudos to you.”  Babette

“What fun it is to meet new people and share in the process.  Eleanor, you are an excellent, generous instructor with a wonderful passion for what you do----I can't think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday afternoon.----I left your class and went straight to the grocery store to pick up some salmon and fresh veggies.  My husband once said that if he were left on a deserted island with only one kind of food to eat the rest of his life, it would be Asian, without question, so I do try to cook with that in mind.  I just have never really perfected my technique with the wok.  I am determined to stick with it and get really good!!!!----Again, thanks to you and your husband for providing so much great information on wok cooking. Warm Regards,”  Mary Jane

“Learned a lot and will definitely tell my friends who are interested in healthy cooking/eating.”  Sylvia

“I’ve been talking up your classes to a lot of people. Jean & I are really enjoying cooking together & have already cooked together twice…which is quite a feat for us!  It’s a very coordinated effort & the best part is eating it!..thanks so much!”

Karen

“On the first night of cooking with our wok I couldn’t remember one of the cuts that you had shown us in class and I was quite frustrated.  Sophia looked at me and said, “Mommy, remember we are not classical musicians, we are Wok Stars!”...  from the mouth of babes ... priceless!

Ashley was the winner of a door prize “goodie bag” at the Gibson Guitar showroom.

“I liked that you knew everybody’s name and a little bit of history of each person.  It made me relax and open up more to the people next to me because I knew their name and I had something to talk about going off of the history that you gave. I thought it would be to long but the time went by very quickly. It was perfect.”  Scott

Here’s Justin’s Wok Star moment, showing off his skills to the gals at La Cuisine gourmet.

“I have attended cooking classes for decades in NY, Chicago, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Miami and yours was by far the most fun and the most informative.”   Donna

“We loved your very warm way of teaching.  It made me feel like I belonged in the kitchen.  The cooking class was excellent.  Marisabel and I enjoyed the opportunity of sharing with you all the secrets and ideas about stir frying.”  Oscar

Miacucina, Aventura.  We always have an interesting gathering of people that turn into lasting friendships.

Chef Jean-Pierre's Cooking School, Ft. Laud. I use two woks for my demonstrations which gives many students a chance to stir-fry!   Most of the classes taught at Chef Jean-Pierre’s are given by restaurant chefs.   My homestyle cooking approach was a refreshing contrast.

Each venue is carefully chosen because I feel a beautiful environment sets the tone and mood for socializing and learning while being entertained.

The Grateful Palate, Ft. Laud. is a beautiful space with an upscale restaurant and gourmet marketplace catering to yacht chefs.  It’s a haven for foodies because it’s a source for unusual, hard to find items.   Their lunch menu is exquisite, all their ingredients are top quality. After class, people got a chance to shop to their heart's content.

Join me in beautiful spaces for an unforgettable experience - a perfect combination of socializing, entertainment and learning!  I’ll show you how to whip up tasty, easy, one-dish, homestyle, sizzling wok meals with little cleanup.

What’s unique about my cooking class is that you’ll learn a technique that’s so liberating, you’ll wonder what all the fuss is with getting dinner on the table!  This is not a typical cooking class where you get handed recipes for 3-4 dishes and that's all you'll learn.  After this class, you'll be able to create your own "recipes" and Be a WOK STAR (watch video for explanation)!  Find out more...
